Manhattan College men’s soccer program signs pair of 2020 recruits

Riverdale, NY – Manhattan College head men’s soccer coach Jorden Scott has announced two additions to the 2020 roster, goalkeeper Danny DiMarco and forward Olsen Aluc.

Aluc joins the Jasper program after competing with the Haitian National team at the Under-17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. A native of Haiti, Aluc moved to Lake Grove, New York three years ago, and competes for Lake Grove SC club team. During his club career, Aluc has helped Lake Grove win the Jefferson Cup, Eastern New York Statewide Tournament and NYC Cup.

“Olsen is a very dynamic, powerful and direct forward who will fit into our system, and is someone that we believe can contribute immediately,” Scott said. “He has developed over the last few years with his club (Lake Grove SC), and recently represented Haiti at the U17 World Cup, which highlights the level of his game. We cannot wait to get him on campus!”

DiMarco, a Sparta, NJ native, comes to Riverdale from the New York Red Bulls Under-19 Developmental Academy team. He has also trained with Real Madrid and is coached by Santiago Castano, who currently is a goalkeeper for the New York Cosmos and previously played for the New York Red Bulls.

“Danny is an elite goalkeeper that has developed thanks to his experiences with the New York Red Bulls, which in one of the best training environments in the country,” Scott said. “His experience of playing at the highest level along with tremendous athleticism, distribution and shot stopping skills have helped fuel his great confidence. We are extremely excited about his future with us and expect him to compete from day one and have an immediate impact on the program.”

Manhattan has qualified for the MAAC Tournament in two of the last three seasons, and will return 66.7 percent (12-of-18) of its goals in 2020.
