Madison, WI native Sonoma Bever transfers to Wisconsin from Wake Forest

MADISON, WI – University of Wisconsin women’s soccer head coach Paula Wilkins has announced the addition of forward Sonoma Bever to the program. Bever joins the Badgers after spending her freshman season at Wake Forest.

A Madison native and Edgewood High School graduate, Bever made two appearances as a true freshman for the Demon Deacons before missing time due to injury. She was also the first player signed by Forward Madison’s USL W League team and is slated to compete for the club during its inaugural 2026 season.

Prior to Wake Forest, Bever put together an outstanding prep career at Edgewood. As a senior, she was named the 2025 Conference Player of the Year and helped lead her team to a conference championship. Bever earned First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors in all four years and was named First Team All-State in 2024 after earning All-State recognition in 2023.
