Eight Loudoun Soccer teams secure berths in 2023 ECNL National Playoffs

Leesburg, Virginia – Loudoun Soccer, the Virginia-based youth soccer club, announced that 8-of-12 Loudoun teams competing in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) have earned berths in the upcoming 2023 ECNL National Playoffs.

Both the ECNL Boys and ECNL Girls National Playoff events will each feature four Loudoun teams when the postseason kicks off in late June. The ECNL is widely-regarded as one of the top levels of competition and player development in the country, whose players are routinely sought out by top colleges and universities for recruitment.

Four Loudoun girls’ teams – in birth years 2009, 2008, 2007, and 2006 – will travel to San Diego for the event next month, where the 2009, 2008, and 2007 teams will compete to advance to the Girls National Finals being held in Richmond, VA.

Four Loudoun boys’ teams – in birth years 2010, 2008, 2007, and 2005/04 – will attend the Boys Playoffs in Greensboro, NC, in a bid to advance to the Boys National Finals in Norco, CA.

Loudoun Soccer Technical Director Mark Ryan expressed his pride in the teams’ accomplishments.

“The achievements of these eight teams is a clear testament to our players’ hard work and dedication to the sport,” Ryan said. “We also recognize the tremendous efforts of our ECNL leadership, head coaches, support staff, and especially our parents, without whom these successes would not be possible.”

Serving youth soccer players and parents throughout Northern Virginia since 1978, Loudoun Soccer is Virginia’s largest soccer program with over 16,000 soccer registrations annually, nearly 2,000 coaches, more than 30 soccer related programs and countless community outreach programs.
