LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Via Disney) – Selections for the Disney Boys Soccer Showcase tournament will be announced live on ESPN3 for the first time during the Disney Soccer Showcase Selection Show tonight at 7 p.m. ET. The program, hosted by ESPN broadcasters Drew Fellios and Eddie Rodriguez, will highlight the most competitive teams in the U17 and U18 divisions of this year’s tournament.

The selection show will feature some of the country’s top U17 and U18 boys soccer squads. During the program on ESPN3 – the network’s online sports channel — the teams and youth soccer fans alike will learn details about key matchups.

Disney Soccer Showcase, an elite youth soccer event, annually attracts the top high school-aged soccer players from around the country to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort. Additionally, the Disney Soccer Showcase attracts more than 20,000 fans and scouts each year. In 2016, 424 coaches from 324 colleges and universities – including top Division I programs like North Carolina (Chapel Hill), Wake Forest, Maryland, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Duke – attended tournament games. Disney Soccer Showcase provides youth soccer players the unique opportunity to play in front of prominent collegiate head coaches such as Ray Reid (Connecticut), Carlos Somoano (North Carolina), Todd Yeagley (Indiana), Bob Warming (Penn State), Bobby Muuss (Wake Forest) and Sasho Cirovski (Maryland).

The tournaments feature more than 600 teams and 11,000 athletes each year. This year, the boys and girls events will take place over separate weekends. The girls will play November 23-26; the boys are in action December 27-31.
