Dev. Academy: FC Greater Boston, N.E. Revolution U-16s tie in Northeast Division showdown

FC Greater Boston and the New England Revolution Under-16s shared the points in a showdown last Saturday of the top two teams in the Development Academy’s Northeast Division, playing to a 2-2 tie.
Mark Greenblatt got FC Greater Boston off to a strong start with a goal in the second minute, but the Revs’ Amadu Kunateh leveled the match in the 38th minute. In the second half, Alex Ainscough put FC Greater Boston back in front with a goal in the 52nd minute for his sixth of the season.
Mawolo Gisse, however, found the back of the net for New England (3-1-1) to tie the match at 2-2, which is where it finished. It was Gisse’s 10th goal of the season, wich leads the team. FC Greater Boston (4-1-0) ended the match with 10 men after a red card was given to Scott Greenwood.
FC Greater Boston’s U-18s defeated New England 1-0 behind a goal from Victor Parra in the 46th minute.
The two clubs will face each other again May 29.
FC Greater Boston is in the process of being rebranded as FC Bolts Celtic, which was initially announced in April. The new name highlights the club’s partnership with Scottish power Celtic FC.
In Frontier Division action Friday, Minnesota Thunder Academy swept the U-16 and U-18 games with Sporting Kansas City, with the U-16s winning 4-3 and the U-18s winning 1-0. In a battle of St. Louis Scott Gallagher clubs, Missouri swept Metro, with both the U-16 and U-18 Missouri sides winning by 2-0 margins. In the other division matchup Friday, the Colorado Rapids and Shattuck-St. Mary’s Soccer Academy U-16s and U-18s played to a 1-1 and 0-0 tie, respectively.
