(Via Charlotte SA) – Charlotte SA announced that Michael Swan has joined the club to serve as the Director of Coaching for 13U-19U CSA-Huntersville players, including the combined Cabarrus/Huntersville teams.

As the Assistant Coach at UNC Charlotte, coach Michael Swan enters his fourth season with the Charlotte women’s soccer program in 2018. During his stint, he has helped lead the 49ers to the 2016 NCAA Tournament and back-to-back appearances in the Conference USA Championships final, highlighted by winning it all in 2016 on the Transamerica Field turf. Prior to joining the 49ers staff, Swan was the Head Coach at Virginia Intermont College, King University, and nearby Catawba College posting a Head Coaching record of 149 wins and 4 trips to National tournaments. Swan carries an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma license and a United Kingdom FA Preliminary Certificate and FA Leader Award.

“I’m extremely excited about bringing coach Swan on to a more active role within our CSA North programs. It’s important to CSA to continue to develop our Huntersville program and give more support to Andrew Steedman in directing the teams and players as the program continues to grow. Michael brings a wealth of knowledge within the game of soccer and has a tremendous rapport with players that have worked with him over the years. He will be a tremendous addition to our senior level staff for the upcoming season,” stated Brad Wylde, CSA Executive Director.
