Boston College women’s soccer adds 10 student-athletes to roster
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women’s soccer program has added 10 student-athletes to the 2020 roster, head coach Jason Lowe announced on Friday.
The new Eagles arrive from five different states including Rhode Island, Massachusetts, California, Wisconsin, and New Jersey with the countries of Iceland, Canada and Germany represented as well. The group includes eight first-year student-athletes as well as two transfers.
“I am excited about this class for so many reasons,” said Lowe. “We expanded our recruiting footprint and added a diverse mix of talent and experience. To live in Boston, compete in the ACC and study at BC is a special opportunity. Rachel Moreland and Jami Kranich have done a great job putting together a class that is eager to make an impact on the field and in the classroom.”

#0 – Wiebke Willebrandt
Hometown: Lippstadt, Germany
Last College/Club: TuS Lipperode 1919/German U19 National Team
BEFORE BC: Member of multiple German youth national teams, earning 36 caps between the U15, U16, U17 and U19 levels … member of the U19 German national team that earned a second-place finish at the 2019 UEFA U19 Championship … part of the U17 squad that won the UEFA U17 Championship and the U17 team that earned a silver medal at the 2018 UEFA U17 Championship … played her club soccer since 2017 for the TuS Lipperode 1919 boys side under coach Jörg Heider and for FSV Gütersloh 2009 the three years prior to that … attended Gesamtschule Kamen.

Hometown: Toronto, Ontario
Last College/Club: Ontario REX/Canada U20 National Team
BEFORE BC: Member of multiple Canada Soccer youth national teams, most recently playing for the Under-20s at the 2020 CONCACAF tournament … was a member of Canada’s U-17 team that was a semifinalist at the 2018 Women’s World Cup … also a member of the 2016 U-15 CONCACAF Tournament silver medalist team … played the last two years for the Ontario Regional Excel Program out of Toronto under coach Brandon Frith … played for the North Toronto Soccer Club for the seven years prior to that, captaining the team to a OPDL league title in 2017 … attended Bloor Collegiate Institute, earning Principal’s List honors.
#7 – Zoie Allen
Hometown: Smithfield, R.I.
Last College/Club: NEFC
BEFORE BC: Played her club soccer for NEFC under Matt Jones and Nick Burke … ranked No. 6 in the Top Draw Northeast Region and No. 147 overall … earned NPL National titles in 2015 and 2016 and was an ECNL quarterfinalist in 2017 … team was a U.S. Soccer Development Academy semifinalist in 2018 … played two years of varsity soccer at Lasalle Academy, earning First Team All-State honors and All-Division I honors both seasons …. team was the state runner-up both seasons … was a four-year honor roll student at Lasalle Academy.
#8 – Laura Gouvin
Hometown: Monson, Mass.
Last College/Club: FSA FC
BEFORE BC: Played six years of club soccer for FSA FC under Mick D’Arcy … also played four years of varsity soccer at Miss Porter’s, notching a program record 41 assists and helping the team to an overall mark of 68-6-9 … was a member of a program that won three Founder’s League titles, two Class B league titles and a 2019 Class A title … served as captain in 2019 and also earned All-American All-New England and All-State honors … named All-State in 2017 and earned All-State and All-New England in 2018 … also played two years of varsity lacrosse … attended Miss Porter’s School, earning honor and high-honor roll accolades in six semesters. … her father played college soccer at WPI while her mother played at Springfield and UMass.

BEFORE BC: Played the last two seasons at the University of Arizona (Pac-12) … appeared in 21 games, making 16 starts, as a freshman en route to a spot on the 2018 Pac-12 All Freshman team and the 2018 Top Drawer Soccer Second Team Best XI … scored four goals and two assists in 2018 … as a sophomore in 2019, she appeared in all 18 matches, adding one goal and one assist … was a three-year varsity letter winner and two-time team MVP at Long Beach Poly HS, and was named first-team All-Conference and first-team All-City during her three years of high school … played her club soccer for Legends FC, winning two national championships.

BEFORE BC: Played two seasons at Saint Louis University (Atlantic 10) before enrolling at BC in January 2020 … appeared in 25 games while recording two assists and logging 733 minutes … was named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll as a freshman in 2018 … earned four varsity letters in high school … was a United Soccer Coaches All-American, Top Drawer Soccer All-Region pick and State Star as a senior in high school … helped lead her SC Waukesha club team to five consecutive state titles (2014-18) and the 2015 regional semifinal … her sister Emily is a member of the Boston College Class of 2020 … was a member of the National Honor Society at Divine Savior Holy Angels.

BEFORE BC: Played on the Iceland National U19 team at the 2019 UEFA U19 Championship, appearing in three matches and scoring one goal … represented Iceland at the 2020 La Manga Tournament in Spain … three-time Icelandic champion at the club level under coach Nik Chamberlain … scored 22 goals and had 15 assists in 2019 … also competed in track and field and karate.
#16 – Charlie Brandin
Hometown: San Mateo, Calif.
Last College/Club: MVLA Soccer Club
BEFORE BC: Most recently played her club soccer for MVLA and coach John DeMartini and spent the 2017-18 season with IMG Academy DA … captain of her U16 MVLA team that was a NorCal State Cup Premier Finalist, NorCal Gold Finalist and Rouge Memorial Tournament champion … played soccer for her high school, Woodside Priory, earning the Coaches Award twice … also played basketball and volleyball … her mom graduated from Boston College in 1992 and was a member of the tennis team.

BEFORE BC: Played her club soccer for Match Fit Academy and coach Domenic Bucci, captaining the team for the last two seasons … member of the Match Fit Academy team that earned the NE title in 2016 … U.S. Soccer Training Center invitee … also played four years of soccer and basketball and one year of lacrosse for Blair Academy … racked up 36 goals and 28 assists in four years on the pitch and was a four-time All-MAPL League honoree and two-time All-State honoree … named team MVP in 2016 and was a team captain in 2019 … helped the team to the MAPL League title in 2018 and the PREP A state finals in 2018 … on the hardwood, earned three MAPL league titles and one state title (2017).
