All-Big 12 Soccer Preseason Team announced ahead of 2023 campaign

The 2023 All-Big 12 Soccer Preseason Team has been released. The team was voted by the league’s head coaches who are not permitted to vote for their own players.

BYU and TCU both garnered three selections each, while Texas earned two selections. UCF, Texas Tech and West Virginia each had one selection.

Headlined by the 2022 Big 12 Co-Goalkeeper of the Year, West Virginia’s Kayza Massey is joined by six 2022 All-Big 12 Soccer honorees. TCU midfielder Gracie Brian and forward Camryn Lancaster make their second appearance on the preseason team while defender Olivia Hasler earns her first preseason honor. UT midfielder Lexi Missimo and forward Trinity Byars were unanimous selections to their designated positions after leading the Conference in goals and assists a season ago, respectively. Hannah Anderson is the second consecutive Red Raider named to the preseason team as a defender.

BYU and UCF combined to procure four selections to the preseason team in their first season in the Big 12. The four student-athletes were First Team honorees last season. BYU forward Brecken Mozingo joins teammates defender Laveni Vaka and midfielder Jamie Shepherd who were the 2022 WCC Defender and Offensive Player of the Year, respectively. UCF forward Dayana Martin rounds out this season’s preseason selections.
