Development Academy: Portland makes academy debut
While the Portland Timbers' U-18 Development Academy team got off to a bit of a rough debut with back-to-back losses on its opening weekend to Chivas USA and the LA Galaxy, the Timbers' U-16s had better results, pulling out ties against the same two clubs.

D.C. United, Baltimore Bays Chelsea, McLean Youth Soccer, Potomac, Virginia Rush and the Richmond Strikers were all in action in Development Academy play over the weekend, with United, McLean and Bays Chelsea each picking up a pair of wins, while Potomac went 0-1-1 on the weekend. Only Rush and Strikers lost both its games, but by close margins.
FASA Hotspur U-13 boys book another trip to Super-Y national finals
Thanks to consistent performances all summer long, the Frederick Area Soccer Association's Hotspur 98 squad made it back to the biggest of stages. A second-place finish in Super Y-League's South Atlantic Under-13 boys division (thanks to a record of 7-1-4) clinched a spot for the team in the Super-Y national finals at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. from Dec. 7-11.
