On the boys’ side, Bethesda-Olney won all three games over Potomac rivals Richmond United, while in the ECNL, FC Virginia and Richmond United’s girls sides looked strong against the Ohio Elite Soccer Academy and the Indiana Fire Juniors.
Top notch competition featured at Bethesda Tournament Boys Weekend
The Bethesda Tournament Boys Weekend was played from Nov. 21-23, with 55 U.S. Youth Soccer and US Club Soccer state champions, four regional champions and one national champion competing in age groups ranging from U9-U19.
Bethesda tournament teams up with Claudio Reyna Foundation to gear up less fortunate young players
Between the girls edition last weekend and the boys brackets that kick off on Friday, it’s been a busy stretch for the Bethesda Soccer Club and their Thanksgiving Tournament, featuring just shy of 1,000 Under-9 through U-19 teams taking the pitch in search of glory. But the club is looking out for less fortunate players, too, partnering with the Claudio Reyna Foundation to gather donated soccer gear for underprivileged kids.
