Semifinal match-ups set for Maryland Boys State Cup following exciting quarterfinal round
The Maryland State Cup quarterfinals took place over the weekend, with the competition now down to the last four teams set to play for spots in the finals on April 26 at the Maryland SoccerPlex. D.C. United Academy U-15/16s take over Wild Card spot, Bethesda-Olney U-17/18s make playoff push
A 5-0 win for D.C. United Academy's U-15/16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy squad over Baltimore Bays Chelsea on Saturday combined with a 1-0 loss for Bethesda-Olney against Everton FC Westchester allowed United to leapfrog Bethesda and take over a Wild Card spot for this summer's USSDA playoffs. In the U-17/18 age group, Bethesda-Olney boosted their push for a playoff spot with a 4-0 rout of Everton at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Md.

PSW: U.S Under-15 Boy’s National Team head coach John Hackworth has selected a 20-player roster that will travel to Gradisca d’Isonzo, Italy, from April 21-May 2, and compete in the 12th Tournament Delle Nazioni. Potomac area players Chandler Vaughn (D.C. United Academy), Christopher Durkin (Richmond United) and Nicholas Taitague (Richmond United) have been named to the roster. ODP Boys Region I teams complete successful international trip
The 1999 and 2000 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) Boys Region I teams just returned from successful tournament play in Spain and Italy respectively. Players were selected after being evaluated in an ODP tournament and ID camp last summer as well as at the US Youth Soccer ODP Thanksgiving and Winter Interregionals.
