Staten Island Youth Soccer League sets plan to build soccer complex
The Staten Island Youth Soccer League (SIYSL) will soon have a home of its own. SIYSL Vice President and Field Committee Chairperson Rob Libertelli made the big announcement during the SIYSL’s 12th Annual Awards Dinner and Hall of Fame Ceremony on January 11 at the Staaten. SIYSL will build its fields on almost 10 acres in the area of Oakwood Beach.
EDP introduces Simon Collins as new Technical Director
Simon Collins has joined the Elite Development Program (EDP) as Technical Director. Collins, a former professional player and manager at various clubs in England over a 25-year period, joins EDP after serving as Director of Coaching at the St. Cloud Soccer Club in St. Cloud, Florida.
Seven clubs claim Virginia NPL Fall 2017 division titles
As the final matches of the fall 2017 Virginia NPL campaign are in the books, seven clubs sit atop the standings of 16 boys and girls age groups. FC Virginia took home four of the girls divisions, while Virginia Rush won two boys groups and two girls groups. Richmond Strikers and Prince William Courage also fielded two champions apiece.
