Sound Beach stings Farmingdale to win the U-18 Girls Eastern New York State Open Cup

Farmingdale United of the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) were six-time defending State Open Cup champs and had won the title an amazing seven times. But that did not matter on May 31 in LaGrange as another LIJSL team, the Sound Beach Stingrays, defeated them, 2-1, in the Girls-Under-18 final for supremacy in the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA).

Dix Hills Elite U-17 Boys win their third Eastern New York State Open Cup title

The Dix Hills Elite did not give up a goal and outscored their opponents, 15-0, in the five games they played to win the Boys-Under-17 State Open Cup. This is Dix Hills’ third State Open Cup title and they were 2013 national finalists.

he Girls-Under-17 State Open Cup final of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) was an interesting match-up between the HBC Strikers of the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) and the Manhattan Kickers Red of the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL), two teams who had never won a State Open Cup championship before. HBC proved they are the best team in the state with a 3-1 win on a wet field on May 31 in LaGrange.
