First champions crowned at US Youth Soccer Region III Championships
Celebrations were in order on Wednesday at BB&T Soccer Complex at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C., as two teams claimed 2017 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships. By winning the title, the two teams — 19/20U Girls 98 CR Academy (NC) and 19/20U Boys OFC 98 (OK) — have secured a spot in the US Youth Soccer National Championships, which will be played July 24-30 in Frisco, Texas.
Match-ups announced for U.S. Soccer Development Academy quarterfinals
The quarterfinal match-ups of the 2017 Development Academy Playoffs were set following Monday's final round of the group stage at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind. Not only did those sides step off the 60 Acres Soccer Complex fields as Regional Champions, but they also secured berths to the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships, which will be played July 24-30 at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas.
D.C. United U-14s defeat Pateadores 2-1 to close out USSDA Showcase
In soggy, difficult conditions on Friday at the 2017 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Summer Showcase and Playoffs, D.C. United upended Pateadores, 2-1, in the first feature game of the U-14 Showcase. With the win, United finished the event with an unbeaten 2-0-1 record.
