FIFA approves change of national association for Sofia Huerta
U.S. Soccer has confirmed that Sofia Huerta has been approved by FIFA for a change of national association. Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, Huerta represented Mexico in official competition at the Under-20 National Team level, which required her application for a one-time switch.

USWNT set to host New Zealand in friendlies on Sept. 15 and 19
The U.S. Women’s National Team will resume its 2017 schedule with a pair of friendlies against New Zealand, on Sept. 15 in Denver, Colorado (8 p.m. MT; ESPN2) and on Sept. 19 in Cincinnati, Ohio (7:30 p.m. ET; FS1), thus kicking off its fall schedule which will feature the final six matches of the year.

Fall games conclude busy 2017 for USWNT on road to 2019 World Cup
The U.S. Women’s National Team enters the stretch run of its 2017 schedule with six fall games remaining: two against New Zealand in September, two against Korea Republic in October and two against Canada in November.

Jill Ellis names 22-player USWNT roster for friendlies vs New Zealand
U.S. Women's National Team head coach Jill Ellis has named 22 players to the roster for two matches against New Zealand, taking place Sept. 15 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. (8 pm MT on ESPN2) and on Sept. 19 at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati (7:30 ET on FS1). Ellis will name 18 players to suit up for each of the two matches.

USWNT to to play Canada in San Jose, California on November 12
The U.S. Women's National Team will face Canada on Nov. 12 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif., in the second of a two-game, home-and-away series of friendlies to end the USA's 2017 schedule. The game will start at 6 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on FS1.

United States international Carli Lloyd was included Thursday on a list of 10 contenders for The Best FIFA Women’s Player of 2017.

USWNT to host Korea Republic in pair of October friendlies
The U.S. Women’s National Team will face the Korea Republic in two friendly matches, the first on Oct. 19 (7 p.m. CT; FS1) at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and then again on Oct. 22 at Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. (2 p.m. ET; ESPN).

Briana Scurry, Dr. Joe Machnik elected to National Soccer Hall of Fame
Briana Scurry and Dr. Joe Machnik have been elected to the National Soccer Hall of Fame Class of 2017. Scurry was selected on the Player Ballot and Machnik on the Builder Ballot. Details about the induction ceremony will be released at a later date.
