Virginia Tech men’s soccer adds three members to 2020 recruiting class

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech men’s soccer head coach Mike Brizendine announced the additions of three student-athletes to the Hokies 2020 signing class Friday afternoon. Oryem Kilama, Dylan Mitchiner and Ethan Stevenson join a Hokies’ program that is in the midst of the greatest stretch in program history.

Oryem Kilama
Position – Forward
Hometown – Wilmington, Delaware
High School – Wilmington Friends School
Club – Delaware Fc

Kilama, a four-year varsity starter for coach Rick Sheppard, was the team’s top scorer for four consecutive seasons as he led his team to the 2018 and 2019 Delaware State Finals.

As a member of Delaware FC, Kilama helped lead his team to three State Cup Championships, two Reginal Championships and appearance in the 2019 Nationals.

He also competed for one season in indoor track where he finished 11th at the Delaware state meet in the 55-meter dash.

Dylan Mitchiner
Position – Defender
Hometown – Cornelius, North Carolina
High School – William Amos Hough
Club – Charlotte Independence

Playing four years for the Carolina Rapids under coach Jeff Bilyk, Mitchell was a team captain that his team to two consecutive playoff berths.

He was also called up to start at centerback for the Colorado Rapids for one summer as helped the team win the Galway cup in Ireland.

Ethan Stevenson
Position – Forward
Hometown – Clover, South Carolina
High School – Clover
Club – Charlotte Independence

Competing on the varsity team since a freshman, Stevenson is a three-time All-Region and two-time All-State honoree. In his junior season he tallied career highs in goal (31) and assists (19) as he was named his Regions’ 2019 Player of the year and a nominee for South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year.
