Makayla started at a very young age when she watched the world cup in 2015. Makayla attended a challenger soccer camp at 6 years old. In the fall, started playing recreational soccer. Two years later, she joined Lee’s Summit Legends where she was able to learn and master the five basic foot skills. While Makayla was learning soccer, she had an extraordinary talent for using her left and right foot. She continues to shoot with either foot.

In 2020, she joined the MO ODP program and continues to play as their primary #9. In June 2021, she joined Kansas City Scott Gallagher on their premier 2011 team. In 2022, they became pre ECNL. In 2023, the ECNL/RL team was able to make it to Richmond, VA for Nationals. Makayla and her team placed 5th in the nation and during the season she contributed to 79 of the 129 goals.

In the summer/fall of 2024, her club was rebranded as UnionKC Soccer Club. This allowed her the opportunity to play Girls Academy. Her team record was an amazing 20 wins and 4 loss record. Makayla’s accolades include being nominated to the ODP Midwest regional camp 3 years in a row. She was invited and participated to ID2 camp in Charleston, SC in December 2024. In 2024, she made the ODP Midwest Regional team where she played in Orlando, FL in January 2025. She also attended Girl’s Academy Midwest ID session in West Des Moines, IA in February 2025. Her GA team made playoffs in Norco, CA in June 2025.

Makayla is more determined than ever. She goes to the gym twice a week and practices at her club’s home field at least twice a week. Makayla is big on strength training and nutrition. Makayla always has a positive attitude and is a great team player.
