What made you decide to verbally commit to Saint Joseph’s University?
It really came down to the people and how comfortable I felt at St. Joe’s! Coaches Jess, Tori, and Chris were so genuine, and I could tell they really cared about their players and the team culture. I also got to meet some of the girls, and they were all super welcoming and had nothing but great things to say about the program. I loved the campus, and having family nearby is a bonus. Everything just felt right, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a Hawk!
What was the recruiting process like and what did you learn about yourself while going through it?
It was exciting but definitely stressful at times! I got to meet some amazing coaches and visit some really cool schools. The biggest thing I learned was to focus on finding the right fit for me instead of comparing my journey to everyone else’s. I learned to be patient, trust myself, and enjoy the process!
How do you feel your strengths on the field will help the Hawks?
I think my speed, work rate, and ability to take defenders on one-on-one are my biggest strengths. I love making runs behind defenders, creating scoring chances, and putting pressure on the other team. I’m super competitive and excited to keep improving and hopefully help the Hawks win games!
What are your favorite subjects in school and what do you think you would like to study in college?
I really enjoy classes where I can be creative and work with other people. I’m thinking about studying education because my mom is a kindergarten teacher, and I’ve seen how much she loves what she does. I think it would be really cool to follow in her footsteps and make a difference for kids someday!
What has your experience been like playing for FC DELCO in the ECNL?
I’m still pretty new to FC DELCO, but it’s been awesome so far! Everyone has been really welcoming, especially Coaches Dwyane and Zac, and I love being surrounded by talented players who push me to get better every day. The competition is great, and I’m excited to keep growing with my teammates!
What are your favorite pair of cleats that you have ever owned?
Definitely Nike Tiempos! They’re my go-to, and I always look forward to the new releases. The funny thing is, my dad loves them so much that he’ll buy the new boots, hoping I’ll want to wear them!
If you could give one piece of advice to a younger player that wants to play at a high level, what would it be?
Don’t compare yourself to others, work hard, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Everyone’s journey is different, and the most important thing is to keep believing in yourself and having fun. Remember why you fell in love with soccer in the first place!
Is there anyone that you would like to give a shoutout to who has helped you both on and off of the field?
Definitely my family, especially my mom and dad! They’ve spent so much time traveling, driving me to practices, and supporting me through everything. I couldn’t have done it without them! I’m also so thankful for all my coaches, trainers, and teammates who’ve pushed me and believed in me along the way. And a huge thank you to Coaches Jess, Tori, and Chris for giving me this opportunity. I can’t wait to be a Hawk!
