Players That Impressed: ECNL Girls 2025 South Carolina National Event

The ECNL Girls South Carolina National Event took place from May 9-11 as some of the nation’s best teams went head-to-head in one of the final league events of the 2024-25 season.

ECNL South Carolina featured 170 total teams across the U12-U15 age groups.

Sophia Barnes | Forward
Bethesda SC 2011 (MD)

A 2012 athlete playing up on Bethesda’s 2011 squad, Barnes has the technical skills, athleticism and composure of many players well beyond her years. She was instrumental on a Bethesda attacking unit which racked up 10 goals during their perfect 3-0-0 weekend. Barnes took over the game on Sunday in her team’s final match, scoring 2 goals and assisting another in a 5-0 rout of Libertyville FC. (HIGHLIGHTS)

A truly exciting player to watch from the Class of 2029, Plerhoples has shown the ability to completely dominate opposing defenders with the ball at her feet. The attacking midfielder / winger was in top form in South Carolina, scoring 3 goals while leading to team to an unbeaten 2-0-1 record. She scored one of the best goals of the entire showcase, launching a shot from a nearly impossible angle after overpowering a defender in the box (WATCH)

Taylor Pemberton | Forward
Bethesda SC 2011 (MD)

Working alongside Sophia Barnes, Pemberton was an absolute force on the front line for Bethesda SC 2011 during their perfect 3-0-0 performance. Pemberton had a big impact all weekend long, coming up especially big on Day 2 in a 3-1 victory over Racing Louisville Academy. She assisted Barnes on the opening goal before scoring what proved to be the game-winner just 4 minutes later. (WATCH)

NC Courage Academy 2010 (NC)

The center attacking midfielder served as a catalyst for the NC Courage Academy U15 attack, consistently finding seams in the opposing lines to create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. Concorde Fire Platinum 2011 (GA)

Competing for a Concorde Fire Platinum 2011 team which was dominant all weekend long, outscoring their opponents by a margin of 13-0, McNabb was one of several high-performers on the offensive side. The talented attacking midfielder showed outstanding chemistry with her teammates and netted a couple of the weekend’s best goals. She scored on an absolute missile from long range against Match Fit Surf, and against Arlington she crossed up two defenders before launching an upper 90 strike. (WATCH)

Concorde Fire Platinum 2011 (GA)

Playing in a high-powered offense with plenty of firepower, opposing defenses can never put too much attention on any one of Concorde’s top playmakers. As a result, players like Davis often have plenty of room to operate, winning many 1v1 situations with relative ease and producing goals in bunches. Davis has the breakaway speed to burst an opposing back line and finish with precision, which she showed during a 5-0 rout against Arlington.

Flecky put an exclamation point on what has been a remarkable 2024-25 regular season, as she scored her 30th goal for Concorde Fire in the opener against Internationals SC. Flecky showed her full skillset in South Carolina, helping her team dominate the possession battle with clean physical play, making some phenomenal passes including multiple assists, and producing goals of her own. The team captain and backstop of the Concorde Fire Platinum 2011 defense, Meyer was flawless during her time between the posts as her team secured 3 consecutive clean sheets during a dominant showing in South Carolina. Meyer’s an imposing keeper with impressive range and quickness, representing a Concorde side which will be among the top U14 teams to watch in the ECNL Playoffs.

Walsh came up big with a key goal for Team Boca’s 2010 ECNL Regional League squad during their 2-1 victory over LVU Rush, launching a shot from a tough angle inside the box. NC Courage Academy 2010 (NC)

A significant part of the NC Courage Academy 2011 offense which piled up 9 total goals at the tournament, while posting a 2-1-0 record. Clack serves as a sparkplug for the offense, scoring the team’s opening goal in 2 of their 3 games, setting the tone with her high level of intensity.
