In memoriam: Javier ‘Chico’ Solares
Javier ‘Chico’ Solares, one of D.C.’s great sports fans, and a longtime member of the D.C. United supporters group La Barra Brava, died last night.
In particular, he was a passionate fan of D.C. United, and was instantly recognizable at tailgates and in the stands from the very beginning. He always had colorful and insightful things to say, and he will be dearly missed by so many.
United fans will be honoring him at tonight’s game against Montreal with a silent tribute in the 12th minute.
