A fearless, physical goalkeeper and starter for Union FC. Previously, she was the starting GK for the Blues FC Girls Academy (GA) 2009 team and then promoted to the starting GK for Blues FC GA 2007/2008 team. She was selected to the Northwest GA Talent ID camp and was the club’s representative on the Girls Academy Advisory Panel.

Mia also plays on the Cal North ODP team and for Racing Sac City FC in the UPSL semi-pro league. She reads the entire field and communicates with her teammates advising them on positioning to maximize formations. She looks to push the ball down the field while being strategic with ball placement.

As a member of the Girls Academy (GA) Advisory Panel, she advocated for safety and anti-bullying in sports. She is always trying to improve her abilities to speak in public, cheerleading her teams, and giving back to those less fortunate. She sacrifices herself for the good of the team.

Mia is a straight-A student and is also dual-enrolled at a local community college taking college level pre-med anatomy courses. She was a girl scout and received many badges and conducted community service, including visiting a retirement home and spending time with the elderly residents. She has attended 4 FIFA World Cups.

Mia is looking for a college that appreciates the skills and leadership qualities she brings. She is a high achieving young woman, and as a Latina, she see herself as a role model for underrepresented girls. A college that values individuality and demands excellence is important to her. She is also looking for a college where the faculty support the student body and encourages students to think independently. She hopes to some day attend medical or dental school.
