Loni Kusic is a dynamic, creative, versatile central midfielder (8,10,6) on her Century United 2009 team. She demonstrates exceptional vision, soccer intelligence and ability to impact the flow of the game. Loni utilizes quick combination play to work out of tight spaces in advancing the attack. She is able to break defensive lines and create goal scoring opportunities for her teammates with accurate passing strikes. Loni’s game awareness allows her to read the game quickly, anticipate movement and keep possession for her team under pressure.
Her calm composure on the ball paired with sound decision making makes her a significant presence in the midfield. On the defensive side of the ball she works with intensity and purpose by disrupting opponents ability to build through the middle of the field. Loni also plays on the wing (7,11) and creates problematic match ups 1 v 1 in open space.
Loni also played a major role in Wheeling Central High School’s first State Championship during the 2025 season (21-3-1). Loni primarily played the CDM position throughout the school’s historic run. Loni contributed significantly to the attack despite operating from a deeper defensive position on the field. She utilized her keen ability to read play development and precise timing of when to push forward and join into the attack, She finished the season with an impressive 23 goals and 23 assists showing great balance.
