Virginia Soccer Association (VSA) has announced the addition of Nick Foglesong to the club as the Assistant Director of Coaching and U9-U14 Boys Director.

Foglesong, a former NCAA D1 player at ODU, most recently was the Director of Player Development for Stafford Soccer Club for the U5-U12 age groups. During his time at Stafford Soccer Club he has been influential in making the club one of the most upcoming and respected programs in the area.

“Nick is someone who we have been tracking for some time due to the work he has been doing at Stafford Soccer Club. He has a strong reputation in the area as a hard working and talented coach with strong leadership skills, so once we had an opening we knew he would be a great fit for our club. He is a good person, good coach, and he will be a great role model for our players” Matt Lacey, Executive Director.

Foglesong is a Virginia native, growing up in the Fredericksburg Area. As a youth player, Foglesong played with the Richmond Kickers Youth Program winning the 2005 State Cup and participating in the first season of the US Soccer Development Academy. While playing with the Kickers, Foglesong also played 5 years of VA State ODP. Foglesong has traveled to multiple countries including Italy, Germany and Holland to compete in various tournaments and train in different environments.

“I am looking forward to having Nick join our full-time staff at VSA. He has already gained so much experience as a Director under good leadership at Stafford and his addition is a great step for him and for VSA” – Dale Parker, VSA Director of Coaching.

Along with assisting with day to day DOC responsibilities, Nick will be taking the lead with all aspects within our U9-U14 boy’s teams NPL and Premier.

“I’m excited to be part of the VSA Family. The club staff and coaches have done a brilliant job bringing such a renowned soccer culture to the area. I look forward to working with the players and coaches to continue the growth of this already well-established club.” – Nick Foglesong.

Foglesong has 10 years of coaching experience under his belt and currently holds a USSF C License and will be looking to pursue the USSF B course in the near future.
