Virginia Fall State Cup Boys Semifinals match-ups decided

Semifinal match-ups have been decided for the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) State Cup in the U-16, U-17, U-18 and U-19/20 age groups.

U-16

Virginia Legacy ’01 CCL Elite posted a perfect 3-0-0 record in group play with 12 goals scored and only seven allowed, going up against BRYC ’01 Elite, Richmond Strikers ’01 and Beach FC ’01 Red. Legacy will face McLean ’01 Green in the semifinals, following McLean’s second place finish in its bracket. McLean went 2-0-1 in group play, defeating FC Richmond Magic ’01 and VSA ’01 NPL Academy, and playing Arlington ’01 Red to a 1-1 draw. McLean is currently 3-1-2 in Club Champions League (CCL) play this season while Legacy is 3-1-0.

BRYC went 2-1-0 to place second in its group, earning a pair of clean sheet victories to secure its spot in the semis. BRYC has compiled a 3-1-1 record so far this season in the CCL, while Arlington is an unblemished 4-0-0.

Beach FC cruised through its bracket with a perfect 3-0-0 run, outscoring its opponents 12-2. SOCA, which has an unblemished 4-0-0 record this season in CCL play, placed second in the other bracket at 2-1-0, outscoring opponents 8-4.

Loudoun earned a pair of hard fought one-goal victories over BRYC and Annandale United FC to secure its spot in the semifinals, placing second in its group. Arlington, which is off to a perfect 4-0-0 start in CCL play, swept its bracket with wins over SOCA, FC Richmond and Virginia Rush.

U-18

Loudoun put on a dominant effort in group play, winning 9-0 decisions against Western Branch Elite and DC Stoddert Blue Metros. Loudoun finish at the top of the group on goal differential ahead of SYA Cardinal 99 Red, which played them to a scoreless draw in their head-to-head meeting. Arlington placed second in the other bracket, going 2-1-0 with eight goals scored and only two given up.

SYA did not give up a single goal in group play, earning clean sheets against Loudoun, Western Branch Elite and DC Stoddert. BRYC shut out all of its group opponents as well, while racking up 11 goals en route to a perfect 3-0-0 record.

SYC went 1-1-1 to finish second in its bracket, highlighted by a 6-3 win over Arlington ’99 Red.

Beach FC, which is off to a strong 4-1-0 start in CCL play, finished second in its bracket with a 2-0-1 record and a +3 goal differential. Meanwhile, BRYC placed at the top of its group with an unbeaten 2-0-1 record, outscoring opponents 7-2. BRYC is also unbeaten so far in CCL competition, posting a 5-0-1 early season mark.
