UNLV women’s soccer program announces spring schedule

LAS VEGAS (Via UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women’s soccer head coach Chris Shaw has announced the spring exhibition schedule, which kicks off this Sunday, February 17 with a pair of games in Pepperdine, Calif.

The schedule will feature nine games over five weekends between Feb. 17 and March 16, with four of the five weekends taking place in Las Vegas.

Saturday’s action in California begins with a 12:45 p.m. match against Cal State Northridge, then wraps up at 2:30 p.m. against host Pepperdine. The following Saturday, Feb. 23, UNLV will host Southern Utah at 10 a.m., followed by a neutral game between Dixie State and Northern Arizona at 11:30 a.m. at Peter Johann Memorial Field. The next weekend, Saturday, March 2, will feature a four-game slate, with the Rebels taking on BYU at 11 a.m. and Utah at 3:30 p.m. The two neutral games between the UNLV matches will pit USC against BYU and Utah at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, with all four games at UNLV’s home field. The schedule continues on March 9 with a doubleheader for the Rebels against Westminster and Weber State at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. with the location to be decided. The schedule wraps up Saturday, March 16 with a full slate of games – UNLV vs. Arizona State at 10 a.m.; CSU Northridge vs. Utah Valley at 11:30 a.m.; UNLV vs BYU at 1 p.m.; Arizona State vs. Utah Valley at 2:30 p.m. and CSU Northridge vs. BYU at 4 p.m. to wrap up the day at Peter Johann Field.

UNLV finished the 2018 season with an 11-6-3 record and a 5-4-2 mark in conference play. The Rebels graduated four seniors but have signed eight newcomers for next year, including two early enrollees who are already on campus and will compete in the spring games.
