University of Akron women’s soccer signs Clara Knopke

KRON, Ohio (Via University of Akron) – Noreen Herlihy, the head coach of The University of Akron women’s soccer program, announced the addition of midfielder Clara Knopke to the incoming freshman class for the 2019 campaign.
With the addition of Knopke, the Zips now have six newcomers joining the Akron program in the fall, including Bailee Bowers (Dublin, Ohio), Emily Clopp (Canonsburg, Pa.), Rielyn Hamilton (Burlington, Ky.), Anya Donelan (Warrington Cheshire, England), and Anna-Catharina Meister (Hinterzarten, Germany).
Knopke, a native of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, currently competes for FV Lochgau in the Oberliga.
Since 2009, Knopke has competed for four clubs including, TSV Kleinsachsenheim (2009-11), C Jugend FV Löchgau (2011-14), B Jugend FV Löchgau (2014-17) in the ENBW Oberliga, and FV Lochgau (2017-19) in the Regionalliga Süd league and Oberliga.
