UNC Wilmington signs Iowa State’s Kenady Adams and Slovakia’s Viktoria Hankova

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNC Wilmington women’s soccer team has announced the addition of forward Kenady Adams and midfielder Viktoria Hankova to the program ahead of the 2023 season.

Adams joins the Seahawks following a five-year career at Iowa State while Hankova comes to UNCW from Piestany, Slovakia, where she played on the U-17 and U-19 Slovak Women’s National Teams.

“We are extremely excited to add two players with totally different types of elite experience. The character and personalities, of both Kenady and Viktoria, really impressed us in the recruiting process,” said UNCW Head Coach Chris Neal. “They are great young women and players. We are excited to have them on campus soon and to compete alongside them for a CAA championship.”

Adams made 47 starts in 58 appearances for the Cyclones from 2019-22. The Fort Collins, Colo., native scored three goals and collected five assists during her time in Ames, Iowa.

As team captain, she started all 16 matches for Iowa State in 2022 and was one of three Cyclones who played at least 1,300 minutes. The then-redshirt senior was credited with an assist in ISU’s upset victory over national-ranked Michigan last season.

A Kinesiology major, Adams is also a four-time Academic All-Big 12 First-Teamer and earned three nods to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Hankova currently plays club soccer for FC Spartak Trnava, a 2023 finalist in Slovak National First Division, under Head Coach Peter Koren.

The center midfielder began her club career with Slovan Bratislava where she scored a goal in her First Division debut at 16-years-old. While with Slovan Bratislave, Viktoria was a three-time champion in the Slovan National First Division.

A dual-sport athlete, Hankova has made UEFA Champion’s League appearances in both outdoor and futsal.
