U.S. U-18 Women’s National Team falls to Norway 1-0 at 10 Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain

CHICAGO – The U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team fell to the Norway U-19 Women’s National Team 1-0 in its second match of the 10 Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain.

The USA was coming off a 3-3 tie with the Sweden U-19s, a match in which the USA came from three goals down to tie. Against Norway, U.S. head coach April Heinrichs made seven changes to the starting lineup from the draw with Sweden.

The U.S. played the year-older Norwegian side fairly even, but gave up the game’s lone goal less than two minutes into the second half off a cross from the right wing that Sigrid Heien Hansen one-timed into the net past U.S. goalkeeper Casey Murphy.

The USA will play its final game at the friendly competition against the France U-19s on March 12.
