U.S. U-15 BNT ties England 3-3 at St. Georges Park

STAFFORDSHIRE, England (Via U.S. Soccer) – The U.S. Under-15 Boys’ National Team tied England 3-3 at St. Georges Park in Staffordshire, England. The draw was the second between the two teams during the BNT’s 10-day camp across the pond.

England and the U.S. both scored goals in the first half. The U.S. found the net first. Kelee Cornfield-Saunders won the ball off of an England goal kick and quickly played it over to Josh Sargent at the top of the 18-yard box. Sargent made a nifty move to beat his defender and then ripped a shot into the upper right corner for the first goal of the game. In the 20th minute England responded with an equalizer.

The U.S. then posted two goals in the second half: a long-range strike from Chris Durkin and a rebound tap-in from Ayo Akinola.

The match officially ended in a 3-3 draw, but both team’s decided to do friendly penalty shootout. The U.S. triumphed 4-3.
