U.S. Soccer Foundation’s “Field of Dreams” contest ends tonight
The deadline for the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s ‘Field of Dreams’ social media photo contest is fast approaching, with entries due by midnight tonight.
The contest is a unique, interactive opportunity for potential grantees to apply for a Planning Grant to assist in the planning phase of a new soccer field in their community.
The winning prize is an $8,000 Planning Grant to help an organization develop a full-scale concept plan for executing a field-building project. All eligibility requirements must be satisfied and the applicant’s status verified before awarding of the prize.
In order to be eligible for the Planning Grant award, entrants must:
*Represent a group seeking to construct a soccer field to serve youth in their community
*Be located within the United States or a U.S. territory
*Submit a digital photo of their field
*Submit a written grant application (finalists only)
*‘Like’ the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Facebook page
Applicants may submit photos of their fields via Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook by marking them with the hashtag #fieldofdreams. Electronic photo submissions will be accepted until Friday, July 20. Photos received after 11:59 pm EDT on Friday, July 20 will not be eligible for the contest.
All appropriate photo submissions will be shared via the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Facebook page. Inappropriate submissions will be flagged and removed and the user will be reported.
Photos will be displayed and ‘Likes’ will be counted until Friday, July 27. The submissions receiving the most ‘Likes’ will be deemed Finalists. Finalists will then be required to submit an official grant application. The winner will be determined based on total ‘Likes’ and a review of the official grant application.
‘Likes’ are counted on Facebook and Instagram. If there is a photo submission on Twitter, the Foundation will share the photo to its Facebook page and ‘likes’ are counted on the Foundation’s platform only.
The ‘Field of Dreams’ social media photo contest is a promotion wholly organized and administered by the U.S. Soccer Foundation and is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
