U-20 Women CONCACAF semifinal referees selected
Ana Navarrete of Cuba will referee Friday’s second semifinal between Canana and host Panama at the CONCACAF Under-20 Women’s Championship and Barbados colleague Gillian Martindale will be in charge of the United States-Mexico match, the confederation announced Thursday.
Navarrete officiated over the Group A match between Jamaica and Canada, a 2-0 win for the North American side, while Martindale was the referee during the Group B opener between the United States and Guatemala, one of three 6-0 victories by the Americans in the first round.
Friday’s semifinal winners will qualify for the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan August 19-September 8. The semifinal losers will play off in the third-place game on Sunday, immediately before the championship match, to determine CONCACAF’s third and final berth.
