ARVADA, Colo. (Via US Youth Soccer) – US Youth Soccer has announced the Under-12 Boys and Girls 2016 US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships winners, crowned Sunday in Arvada, Colo.

2016 Region IV Championships Match Highlights
Under 12 Boys
A pair of Southern California teams faced off in the Under-12 Boys finals as SD Surf Academy (CA-S) defeated Albion SC White (CA-S) 2-0. Cole Friesen broke the scoreless stalemate in the 36th minute, and just three minutes later added his second goal of the match put Surf up 2-0. Surf’s defense would succeed in holding Albion’s co-leading scorers Jack Bowers and Evan Rotundo, who each had seven in the tournament, scoreless to claim the regional title.
Under 12 Girls
After producing a 1-0 shutout in the semifinals, Scottsdale Soccer 04 Blackhawks (AZ) recorded its second straight clean sheet in the finals with a 3-0 win over LVPSA 04 Red (NV). Mia Sowders got Scottsdale off to a dream start with a goal in the second minute, and Farrah Walters added her fifth goal of the tournament in the 33rd minute. Kiley Connery would add an insurance goal in the 54th minute to complete the 3-0 win.
