Two Real Maryland FC PDL players face off in college battle on Wednesday

Two Real Maryland FC Players, who stepped on the pitch together this summer in the USL’s Premier Development League, will dig in for a contest this Wednesday that will impact the top of the National Rankings.

George Fochive of the University of Connecticut and John Snyder of Georgetown University will meet up again after helping Real Maryland FC back into the United Soccer Leagues PDL Playoffs this summer.

George Fochive (Paris, France) has started and played all ten games this season for the Huskies while logging 868 minutes. UConn is currently undefeated, ranked #2 nationally and are looking to climb back to the top of the ladder.

Fochive is currently running in the central part of the Huskies’ midfield. George played 9 games for Real Maryland FC’s central midfield where he logged 590 minutes with 2 pts.

John Snyder (Bethesda, Md.) has played in 9 matches for the Hoyas this season. Georgetown is currently undefeated, ranked #5 nationally and looking to jump to the top spot for the first time in 2012.

Snyder runs in the midfield for Georgetown. John played 9 games for Real Maryland FC where he logged 635 minutes while running on the flank.

Both teams are undefeated, are in the top five rankings nationally and could face the possibility of rising to the top spot after this week. The two teams will meet at Georgetown’s North Kehoe Field on Wednesday, October 3 at 3pm EST.

Depending on the result of this Big East Conference match and the outcome of the ACC rivalry this Friday night between the #1 Maryland Terrapins and the Virginia Cavaliers, there could be a major shake-up at the top of the rankings next week.

Last season, UConn and Georgetown played to a 0-0 tie in Storrs, CT. All-time, UConn leads the series 13-9-3. The Huskies have blanked the Hoyas in seven of the last nine meetings.
