Tennessee forward Ali Howard transfers to Syracuse as a sophomore
Ali Howard, a forward who played at Tennessee last season, has accepted a written offer of athletic aid to Syracuse, and will transfer to join the Orange.
Howard, a 5-7 forward, was a standout at Briarcrest Christian School, where she first started as an eighth grader. She was named Division II-AA all-state by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) and the Tennessee High School Soccer Coaches Association (THSSCA) in her sophomore (2023) and junior (2024) seasons. Howard earned Briarcrest Christian offensive most valuable player honors her final three years.
She helped the Saints advance to the Division II-AA quarterfinals in 2023 and tallied 18 goals and six assists. Howard was named to the Commercial Appeal and Daily Memphian First Team All-Metro Teams in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
She earned a spot on the 2025 U.S. Youth Soccer Girls Olympic Development Program national roster. She was a member of the National Honor Society and on the Academic Honor Roll at Briarcrest Christian. Howard enrolled at Tennessee last fall and redshirted as a freshman.
Syracuse also attracted transfer students Vickie Jones (Arroyo/San Lorenzo, Calif.) from Michigan, Chloe Joseph (College Ahuntsic/Laval, Quebec, Canada) from Oklahoma State, Maggie Manning (Prosper/Prosper, Texas) from Houston, Kendall Mesh (Spencerport/Spencerport, N.Y.) from Old Dominion, Maya Naimoli (Episcopal Academy/Wayne, Pa./Youngstown State), Farrah Stephens-Martin (Sutton, U.K./Kansas State/Connecticut) and Emery Streets (Gallatin/Bozeman, Mont.) from Washington State.
The Orange received commitments from the following six incoming freshmen: Océane Blouin (Montreal College/Boischatel, Quebec), Lauren Christy (Brewster Academy/Salem, N.H.), Irelyn Fay (IMG Academy/Leesburg, Va.), Lindsay Parker (Jamesville-DeWitt H.S./Syracuse, N.Y.), Sarah Weisberg (Creekside H.S./Tampa, Fla.) and Madilyn Wright (Homeschooled/Fayetteville, Ga.
