U.S. U-16 Girls National Team holding May camp at new National Training Center in GA

ATLANTA – U.S. Under-16 Girls’ National Team head coach Katie Schoepfer has named 24 players for a training camp at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, GA.

This camp will start a new era for U.S. Soccer as it is the first training camp for the U.S. Women’s and Girls’ National Team program at U.S. Soccer’s new NTC.

This group of players is training to qualify for the 2027 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Although there will be no international matches associated with this camp, the U.S. U-16 GNT has had the benefit of playing nine international matches so far this year. The USA has compiled a record of 5W-2L-2D in those games against European powers Germany, Belgium, Spain, Denmark, England, Netherlands and Sweden.

The roster is made up of players from 21 youth clubs with the Charlotte Soccer Academy, and Mountain View Los Altos and Mustang SC, both from Norther California, featuring two players each. The players come from 13 different states, including six from California.

The camp is part of the Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.
