SMU utilizes top Texas youth clubs in highly-rated 2026 signing class
DALLAS (SMU)- The SMU women’s soccer program signed six elite high school prospects for the incoming Class of 2026, during the early signing period.
Ranked as high as No. 19 in the country, the class of Kamiya Beck, Peyton Hayes, Ryann Dedmon, Julianne Richter, Kenlea Swadener and Abby Goldean all signed to play for the Mustangs during the 2026 season. Four of the six incoming freshmen are from the state of Texas.
SMU finished year two in the ACC with an overall record of 8-8-2 and a home record of 6-3-1. The Mustangs totaled six shutouts during the season and recorded 26 assists on 25 goals scored and had 13 different goal scorers during the season.
SMU faced five ranked opponents throughout the season, four of which were ranked inside the top-10. The Mustangs also faced eight teams that made the 2025 NCAA Tournament during the regular season.
“We are very excited by this group overall,” Head Coach Nicole Nelson said. “It’s the first class recruiting into the ACC, and the effect was significant. We expect them to raise the level in just about every position.”
Kamiya Beck (5-10, FWD) Lancaster, Texas | Lancaster HS | Solar Soccer Club
A Dallas-area native, ranked No. 64 in the country and No. 25 in Texas by TopDrawerSoccer, and recognized as a top player to watch in the class of 2026 by ImYouthSoccer, Beck has a lengthy list of accolades she has earned over the years. Playing for Solar Soccer Club in Dallas her list of honors includes 2022-23 ECNL Texas All Conference Second Team honors, a two-time Texas Conference Champion, a two-time International Girls Champion and a two-time Dallas Cup Champion. In 2024, Beck helped lead the way to Solar 2008 ECNL’s second consecutive title at the Dallas Cup, scoring four out of the five goals in the championship game. Additionally, Beck has played with the 2008 USYS ODP NTX State Pool from 2018-2023 (coached by Danielle Caro) and was selected to participate in many ODP ID Invitationals and Sub-Regional events. She has earned two call-ups to the U.S. Soccer Girls YNT Identification Camps, attended U17 Spring 2025 National Camp, and ECNL Girls Conference Cup Best XI.
Ryann Dedmon (5-9, DEF) Houston, Texas | Ridge Point HS | Albion Hurricanes FC
A defender from Houston, Texas, Dedmon helped Ridge Point High School finish second in the state during her freshman season. She earned Second Team All-State honors for her play during the 2024-25 season. Dedmon played for Albion Hurricanes FC and participated in numerous ECNL showcases, most recently playing in the Continental Tire ECNL National Selection game. Additionally, Dedmon was named to the Capelli Sport North American Girls Roster for Summer 2024 for the European Trip.
Peyton Hayes (5-7, FWD) Southlake, Texas | Southlake Carroll HS | Solar Soccer Club
A native of Southlake, Texas, Hayes scored 16 goals and had 11 assists as a junior at Southlake Carroll High School. Hayes earned 2025 District 4-6A Newcomer of the Year honors as well as First Team All-District and Academic All-District recognition for her play. Hayes won the 2025 Texas Cup with Solar 07/08 ECNL team and also advanced to the elite eight in the ECNL National Playoffs in June of 2025.
Abby Goldean (5-6, DEF) Charlotte, N.C. | Providence Day School | Charlotte Soccer Academy
A defender from Charlotte, North Carolina, Goldean helped lead Providence Day to back-to-back state championships in 2024 and 2025. For her play during the 2025 season, she was named First Team CISAA All-Conference , First Team CISSA All-Region, First Team CISAA All-State and received All-Observer City First Team honors. As a junior, she recorded 10 goals and seven assists. During the 2024 season, she received Second Team CISAA All-Conference and Second Team CISSA All-Region honors. For Charlotte, SA was named ECNL RL All-Region in 2025 and played at the 2025 Continental Tire Selection Team Florida Showcase. She was a National Qualifier and ECNL RL Southeast Champion in 2023.
Kenlea Swadener (5-8, GK) Fairview, Texas | Lovejoy HS | Sting Soccer Club
A goalkeeper from Fairview, Texas, Swadener led Lovejoy High School to the Elite Eight of the 2025 UIL Texas 5A Division 2 State Championship. She posted three shutout victories en route to the Elite Eight appearance and was named 5A Goalkeeper of the Year. Swadener is a two-time First-Team All-State, three-time First-Team All-District and three-time All-Academic Team honoree. She is also a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-State and All-Area recipient. Swadener played for Sting Soccer Club, appearing at multiple high-level ECNL events and was a 2025 ECNL National Runner Up.
Julianne Richter (5-5, MF) Temecula, Calif. | Linfield Christian HS | Slammers HB Koge
A native of Temecula, California, Richter is a scoring midfielder who played for Linfield Christian and Slammers HB Koge. Richter was named First-Team All-League and as a sophomore when she scored 16 goals. She scored 12 goals as a junior, and as a freshman, she earned Second Team All-League honors. Playing for Slammers HB Koge, she helped the club finish third in the nation in 2025 and fifth in 2023 and 2024. Richter earned ECNL Southwest All-Conference First Team Honors in 2023. Richter also represented KC Current playing against Brazil national teams in Brazil.
