Several U.S. Youth National Team players join NYCFC Girls Academy

(Via NYCFC) – As New York City FC continues on the road to assembling U.S. Soccer Girls’ Development Academy teams in the 2004, 2003, 2002/01, and 2000/99 age groups, several U.S. Youth National Team players have joined the program.
From the growing pool of top level players, the following U.S. Youth National Team players have earned spots thus far: Kelly Monaco (2003), Angela Aguero (2001), Julia Dohle (2001), and Rebecca Jarrett (2000).
Kazbek Tambi, NYCFC Girls Academy Director, said “We are excited about the growing numbers of players aiming to earn positions in the NYCFC Girls Academy. The talent level is fantastic and we really look forward to pushing more players into the national levels”.
Tambi also previously served as the Head Coach of the U17 US Women’s National team, leading them to the silver medal at the New Zealand World Cup, which still stands as the most successful US U17 World Cup campaign.
The NYCFC Girls Academy will train and compete out of the Orangeburg Soccer Complex, widely viewed as the top youth soccer complex in the region and located adjacent to the new NYCFC professional team training facility which is presently under construction.
