(Via Blackpool FC) – Former Real Salt Lake Academy midfielder Sebastien Turenne Des Pres has signed with English side Blackpool FC’s youth team squad on professional terms.

The 18-year-old has penned an initial 18-month contract with Blackpool, with the club holding an option to extend the deal by a further 12 months.

“Seb’s been on trial with us and he’s impressed everybody at the club,” said Blackpool’s academy manager on the club’s website. “He still falls into the category of an under-18 player but he’s one that the first-team staff and ourselves in the academy are all very excited about. He’s got to knuckle down and adapt to life in England but he’s made a big decision to come over here and pursue a professional career. That’s his dream and we’re giving him a platform to try and achieve his dream.”

The youngster, of dual nationality, made his first appearance for the youth team on the weekend and will aim to make significant progress to the first-team setup while with the club.

“In the short-term future he’ll be with the under-18s so that he can adapt and get minutes under his belt,” said Blackpool first team manager Ciaran Donnelly.

“He played his first game for the under-18s on Saturday against Carlisle and was probably the outstanding player on the pitch, yet Murphs and myself know that he’s got two or three more gears to go up. It’s in his hands, so let’s see what he can do.”
