Reports: USMNT to face Ghana at RFK Stadium in D.C. in October

Multiple reports surfaced on Monday evening stating that the U.S. Men’s National Team will play an international friendly against Ghana at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. on October 11, 2016.
According to ESPN FC and the Washington Post, U.S. Soccer is finalizing plans for the match, which will take place four days after the USA plays Cuba in a historic match-up in Havana.

The USA has faced Ghana in each of the last three World Cups, most recently in Group G of the 2014 event, in which John Brooks headed in a late game-winner to help the U.S. earn a valuable three points on its way to advancing to the knockout stages.
Ghana won the previous two World Cup battles between the two sides, eliminating the U.S. in 2006 group play and in the 2010 round of 16.
If plans for the October 11 USA-Ghana match are indeed finalized, it will be the first meeting between the two men’s squads outside of World Cup play.
