PWSI Icebreaker kicking off with U-9 to U-12 boys weekend
The PWSI Icebreaker begins this weekend, March 21-22 with the U-9 to U-12 boys event. A total of 40 clubs from Virginia and Maryland are sending a combined 158 teams to compete in the tournament which is hosted at Howison Park, Hellwig Park and Long Park in Prince William County, Va.
Between the younger boys weekend and the second weekend which includes U-13 to U-19 boys and U-9 to U-19 girls, the Icebreaker event hosts 450 teams annually. The tournament supports the US Soccer Foundation’s Passback Program in which players are encouraged to used soccer equipment to registration or any game site for collection. The equipment is then distributed to underprivileged athletes.
