DAVIS, Calif. (Via US Club Soccer) – When the NorCal NPL Boys Spring College Showcase concluded this past weekend, five clubs officially began their journeys towards national championships this summer.

The showcase serves as an annual finale to the NorCal NPL Champions League with top teams earning qualification to the NPL Finals.

PAC San Jose, a U-17 national champion in Indiana last year, will look to defend their title in the U-18 bracket this season in Aurora, Colo. The other age group winners were: Ballistic United (U-17), Odyssey South (U-16), Galt FC (U-15) and ECFC Real Salinas (U-14).

In addition to the high-stakes environment of vying for NPL Finals qualification, a total of 59 college coaches from 38 programs were in attendance at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex.

A month earlier, NorCal NPL hosted the Girls Spring College Showcase at Mary Grogan Park in Modesto, Calif. This marked the conclusion of the NPL winter season and featured top U-15 through U-18/19 teams.

Davis Legacy clinched the U-15 and U-18/19 brackets, Placer United secured the U-16 age group and FC Elk Grove was the U-17 winner.

About 40 college coaches were in attendance.
