Glen Burnie, MD (Via MSYSA) – The Maryland State Youth Soccer Association has launched Maryland District ODP.

The Maryland District ODP builds upon the structure of the Maryland State ODP by becoming the first step in the process and by creating more opportunities for more players to participate in the Maryland ODP by bringing programming closer to home. Multiple districts are being established across Maryland to aid in reducing the geographical barriers that prevent players from participating. Participants in the Maryland District ODP will receive high-level training before trying out for a spot on the Maryland State training pool for their age group and gender.

“The Maryland District ODP is designed to provide more opportunities for more players from across the state to participate in the Maryland ODP. I am very proud of this initiative and look forward to seeing the positive results across the state” said Mark Cantor, MSYSA President.
MSYSA Executive Director, Greg Smith, Ph.D. said “The Maryland District ODP is the latest improvement to the Maryland ODP which has seen many positive tweaks over the past few years. This newest improvement will provide increased opportunities for players from all corners of the state.”

The Maryland District ODP will be phased in over the next four years starting with the 12U age group this fall.
