RICHMOND, VA (Via ECNL) – The Girls Elite Clubs National League has announced that LAFC Slammers will join the league for the 2018-19 season.

LAFC Slammers will join their sister club Slammers FC and more than 80 other “All-In” clubs, to place the ECNL as the aspirational training and development environment for all female players within the club, and at the top of their competitive pyramid.

As a new club, the individual and team performances of LAFC Slammers over the past year have quickly distinguished the club as one of the top developmental programs in the country, with both fantastic team success and multiple individual players making their mark in youth national teams.  With the club’s focus solely on the ECNL next season, LAFC Slammers will immediately elevate play in the Southwest Conference.

Slammers FC is a founding Girls ECNL Member Club, and has been a top 10 club every year.  Slammers FC won the prestigious ECNL Overall Club Championship twice, in both 2012 and 2016, and claimed national championships in 2013, 2014, and 2016 (two).  The club is well represented in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), with five players currently playing in the league, and also claims US Women’s National Team star and current Goteborg FC player, Christen Press, as a club alum.
