Indiana University men’s soccer teams adds 2 to recruiting class

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University announced the addition of Joris Ahlinvi and Quinten Helmer to the men’s soccer program’s 2019 recruiting class on Tuesday. Both will be eligible to compete for the Hoosiers immediately.

Ahlinvi comes to IU as a transfer from Florida International University and will have one year of eligibility remaining. Helmer will have four years of eligibility for the Hoosiers.

The addition of Ahlinvi and Helmer gives Indiana a 14-member recruiting class for this coming season. Prior to the addition of Ahlinvi and Helmer, IU’s class was ranked No. 5 in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer.

The highly-touted class joins a talented group of returnees for the Hoosiers in 2019. College Cup participants the past two seasons, Indiana won both the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles in 2018, finishing the year ranked No. 3 in the nation. IU reached the NCAA Tournament for the 32nd-straight season in 2018 and for a NCAA-record 43rd time in program history. The Hoosiers 20th College Cup appearance last year is also a NCAA record.
