Former Oregon Surf ECNL goalkeeper Zoë Anderson signs with UNC Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNC Wilmington women’s soccer head coach Chris Neal has signed freshman goalkeeper Zoë Anderson to the 2025 roster.

Anderson, a native of Portland, Oregon, arrives in Wilmington after spending the 2025 spring semester at the University of Arkansas.

“We are very excited to welcome Zoe to UNCW,” Neal said. “She has tremendous potential, and we are ready to help her develop, on and off the field. We can’t wait to have her in the Hawk’s Nest for the 2025 season!”

A three-year starter and two-time all-state goalkeeper at Jesuit High School in her hometown, Anderson earned 2024 All-America Team West honors and was named a finalist for Oregon Player of the Year as a senior in 2024.

Anderson led her team to victories in the OSAA 6A State Championship in 2022 and 2024 and did not concede any goals during her team’s 2024 state championship season.

During her three high school seasons, Anderson saved 151 of 161 shots (93.8%). She also recorded 43 shutouts and only conceded three regular-season goals for a career goals against average of 0.28

On the national scene, Anderson was a U.S. Soccer Youth National Team IDC and the team captain for the Olympic Development Program at the Friendship Cup.

Anderson enjoyed a successful Elite Club National League career with Oregon Surf G06-07 (Previously Northwest Elite FC). She was named one of the top 100 players in the class of 2025. Anderson earned a three-star rating from Top Drawer Soccer and was a nine-time TDS National Showcase Club Standout.

She posted a 3.97 GPA and was named a National Merit Commended Scholar and a delegate to the Congress of the National Academy of Future Physicians.
