Five Virginia, Maryland and D.C. teams kicking off NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship

Five Virginia, Maryland and D.C. based teams are kicking off the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship this weekend.
After qualifying for the 64-team tournament field, the Potomac area teams will now aim to advance through the first round with wins on Friday and Saturday.

The University of Virginia enters the tournament as one of four No. 1 seeds, and will play host to in-state foe Radford on Saturday evening.
Virginia Tech will host Xavier on Friday evening, and Navy is visiting NC State on Friday night as well.
Georgetown kicks off their NCAA Tournament run on Saturday, hosting West Virginia University.
