ECNL Northeast Conference Recap: Oct. 24-25, 2015

PDA extended its winning streak to five games and East Meadow SC remains unbeaten through nine games following an eventful weekend in the ECNL Northeast Conference’s U-14 age group.

U-14

PDA took over first place in the Metro Division with back-to-back victories, improving to 5-1-1 and extending its winning streak to five. The team has not missed a point since an 0-1-1 start, but has since outscored opponents 15-3, earning clean sheets in three out of five matches. PDA defeated Continental FC Delco 3-0 and in-state foe Match Fit Academy 2-1 in a closely contested game on Sunday afternoon at PDA Soccer Complex.

The loss was the first of the season for Match Fit, which had a strong weekend overall, defeating World Class FC 4-0 on Saturday for the team’s fourth win. Match Fit is now second in the Metro Division at 4-1-2 with 17 goals scored and just five allowed.

World Class FC rallied for a 1-0 shutout of Continental FC Delco on Sunday, earning its second conference win of the season.

East Meadow SC traveled to Massachusetts for games against FC Stars and Boston Breakers Academy, and earned four of six available points. After playing FC Stars to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon, East Meadow picked up a 3-1 win over Boston to improve to 6-0-3, extending its conference-high unbeaten streak to nine. The team has given up just three goals while racking up 25 on the offensive side.

Albertson Fury also made the trip North, opening the weekend with a 2-0 loss to Boston Breakers before rallying for a 2-2 draw against FC Stars on Sunday. Boston remains atop the New England Division at 4-1-0, while Albertson is an even 3-3-3 through nine games.

Connecticut sides FSA FC and Connecticut FC began their seasons this weekend at home, playing host to clubs from Pennsylvania. FSA split a pair, being blanked 3-0 by Penn Fusion on Saturday and then shutting out FC Bucks 5-0 on Sunday.
