Creighton women’s soccer team signs trio of transfers from Xavier

OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton women’s soccer first year head coach Jimmy Walker announced his first additions to the 2024 roster with the signing of Xavier transfers Reese Carpenter (Terrace Park, Ohio), Mallory Connealy (Omaha, Neb.) and Ella Offer (Rochester Hills, Mich.).

Carpenter comes to Creighton after spending the previous two seasons within the Xavier program. Although she did not play in her two seasons with the Musketeers, Carpenter brings valuable experience and athleticism to the Bluejays backline. Off the pitch, Carpenter excelled in the classroom earning BIG EAST All-Academic Team honors.

“Reese is a fantastic young lady that comes from a great family,” said Walker. “She will be a great addition to Creighton from a cultural standpoint. Reese comes in from Xavier and has experience competing within a championship culture. Her size, explosiveness and strength will help bring a competitive edge to our program as a central defender.”

A graduate of Mount Notre Dame high school in Ohio, Carpenter guided the Cougars to 66 victories over four years, including a OHSAA Division I State Championship with an unbeaten 22-0-1 record as a senior. Her efforts on the pitch earned her First Team All-GGCL honors following her senior season. Carpenter also excelled at the club level, playing center back for Ohio Elite.

Connealy, an Omaha native, arrives at Creighton after helping Xavier claim a share of the BIG EAST regular season title in 2023. The freshman forward appeared in 20 matches during her lone season with the Musketeers, logging a combined 250 minutes of action and a total of two shots.

“Mallory is a local player that knows the area really well and will bring a blue-collar mentality to our program,” Walker added. “She comes to Creighton after winning a championship at Xavier and will help bring that championship mentality to training day in and day out at Creighton. As a player, Mallory is really dynamic, athletic and will add size, athleticism and explosiveness to our attacking unit.”

A graduate of Marian High School, Connealy was a four-time varsity letterwinner, serving as the team captain as a senior. She guided the Crusaders to 44 career victories and three Nebraska Class A State Tournaments appearances. Following her senior season, Connealy earned NSAA All-Class A Second Team honors after leading her team to a state semifinals appearance. Connealy also played club soccer for the Gretna Elite Academy.

Offer, originally from Rochester Hills, Mich., transferred to Creighton after spending the previous two years at Xavier. Over the course of those two seasons, Offer appeared in 16 matches while logging a combined two shots and 122 minutes on the pitch. Off the pitch, she excelled in the classroom earning BIG EAST All-Academic Team honors.

“Ella is another fantastic young lady that comes from a great family and will be a great addition to culture within the Creighton women’s soccer program,” stated Walker. “Ella is dynamic, athletic and fit with an excellent left foot that will help add depth, experience and quality to our defensive unit at the left back position. Her championship experience will her add to our training environment as we prepare for the fall season.”

Prior to joining the Musketeers, Offer played 12 years of club soccer, including five years for the Nationals in the Directors and Girls Academy. While with the Nationals, Offer helped her team to the 2020-21 National Championship, earning shutouts in all showcase and playoff matches, including the national title match. Her team finished the 2020-21 season with a 32-1 overall record, outscoring their opponents 82-12.
