Bethesda SC Blue U-16 boys into semis of Surf Cup

Bethesda SC Blue’s Under-16 boys are into the semifinal round of the Surf Cup, to be played this morning at the San Diego Polo Club against Sereno 97 Boys White of Arizona.

Playing in the Boys U-16 Bracket A, Bethesda defeated Barcelona Texas 96/97 3-1 in the opening match, and followed that with two ties, 2-2 against Washington Premier B96 Black and 0-0 against Marin FC 97 Blue.

Four other teams from the DMV region failed to get out of bracket play.

• The Richmond Kickers U-17 Girls Elite squad tying the top two teams in Bracket B of the Girls U-17 Super group–0-0 with Santa Rosa United Shock and 1-1 with Eastside C G’95 Red Bialek before falling to West Coast FC ECNL 2-1.

• In Girls U-17 Gold group play, Loudoun Soccer 95G Red lost all three of its games, falling 2-1 to West Coast FC United, 4-2 to Tualatin Hills United SC Sodium and 1-0 to Weston FC 95 Premier Black.

• In Boys U-18 Super, AC Bethesda tied two of its three Bracket B games and failed to qualify for the quarterfinals. AC Bethesda opened with a 2-2 tie against Rovers Youth Academy, then fell 1-0 to Fullerton Rangers and tied 3-3 with Sacramento United America.

• In Boys U-17 Super, Bethesda SC Revolution tied Pateadores Black-Cantu (Torrance) 1-1 before falling 1-0 to Diablo FC 95 and 2-0 to OSSA 95 Green.
