Bethesda Cup added as EDP Guaranteed Acceptance event

(Via EDP Soccer) – Bethesda Soccer Club and the Eastern Development Program (EDP) have announced an agreement to add the Bethesda Cup into the series of EDP Guaranteed Acceptance events.

Last year, Bethesda SC’s flagship event, the Bethesda Cup, welcomed teams from the premier soccer leagues across the East Coast and approximately 200 college coaches from top academic and athletic programs. The girls event is held the second weekend in November and the boys event is held the third weekend in November.

This new relationship between EDP and Bethesda SC will guarantee acceptance for select EDP teams for the upcoming tournament. The Bethesda Cup will add to the existing EDP Guaranteed Acceptance Events that include the EDP Cups, Lou Ramos Classic Manhattan Kickoff Classic and Jefferson Cup.

Bethesda Soccer Club’s Executive Director Brad Roos said, “We are excited to host the EDP teams at the Bethesda Cup. It is an already accomplished event and will only get stronger with the EDP teams joining in. We look forward to a great relationship for many years to come.”

EDP President Steve Shilling remarked, “We are pleased to add the Bethesda Cup to our Guaranteed Acceptance Program, this provides an added benefit for our members. We welcome Bethesda and look forward to a great relationship that we expect to grow in the future.”

Bethesda Soccer Club, is a highly competitive soccer club located in Montgomery County, Maryland. With age groups ranging from U8-U19, the club’s belief to improve each player’s performance in order to advance to the next level, is just one of the values shared by EDP. The Bethesda Cup is one of the nations top events and the partnership with EDP will strengthen the league as well as the event.

This fall the 31st Annual Bethesda Cup Tournament will be open to ages U9-U19, located just outside Washington, DC.
